Frequently Asked Questions
It is our custom
confirmed here, or received here; and/or you have been a regular attendee at services
and give from your time , treasure, and talent to the on-going life of this parish, you
may receive any of the sacraments of the church; use the church for weddings,
baptisms, and funerals. Please call the church office to make arrangements.

What to do when someone who is not a member wants to have a baby
baptized.
You need to call the church office 508-672-5571 and speak to the priest. Right now we
have an Interim Rector, The Rev. Patricia D. Gober. We love to have new people come
and have new babies baptized here at the Church of the Ascension. We also do adult
baptisms - if you have never been baptized, please speak with Rev. Pat.

About getting married in this church.
If you are not currently a member of this church, we encourage you to think about
joining us. If you want a beautiful setting for your wedding, this is it!
The Episcopal Church requires the priest who performs your marriage to meet with you
prior to the wedding date a minimum of three times. These meetings can be scheduled
at your convenience. There are fees for the use of the building ($600), the organist
($200), and $75 for the Sexton who cleans the church. Fees for the minister who
performs the ceremony are negotiated with the couple. But if you become a member
first, those fees are waived. Please call to speak with our priest at (508) 672-5571 and
we hope you'll find this house of worship a place of welcome and support at this
important time in your life.

If you'd like us to put you or a loved one on our Prayer List
We will be happy to add names you give us to our worship bulletin for a month at a time
and pray for them each week. Please fill out a prayer request form and place it in the
collection plate or mail to the parish office. (prayer forms can be found in the table
above)
